Generally I avoid New Year’s Resolutions like the plague as frankly, I give them a good go in the first week and then just forget that I’m supposed to be doing them.

However, I *hope* these are slightly more achievable than the usual ‘lose weight / get fit / don’t get annoyed so easily be other people’ ones of yore.

*be braver - part of this will entail venturing into the world of online dating.  At 31 I have so far swerved this but did go on a couple of horror dates many many years ago via Friendster (remember Friendster?!  Anyone? Anyone?) that still scar me.  Pretty much all my friends have tried it at one point or another.  Many are pros that have sampled the whole smorgasbord of sites that world has to offer.  Some have even met their wives/husbands/boyfriends/girlfriends on there.  I’m not holding out much hope that I’ll be as fortunate, but then fate does not appear to be working in my favour via traditional methods so there’s nothing to lose.

*work on reducing my OCDness. I’ve sustained injuries, broken objects, and generally worked myself up into a tizz trying to get things ‘just right’. It’s exhausting.  The Scrubs episode with Michael J Fox was like looking in a mirror. I need to get a grip.

*cook more from recipes. Bored, bored, bored of my culinary repertoire.

*see more of the world. After finally making my way out of Europe last year, and having found a really lovely kennels that I’m happy leaving Duke with.  All dependant really on my mortgage staying nice and low so I can afford such luxury.

*read more books, reduce time spent on twitter/facebook/tumblr, procrastinate less.  Generally just get stuff done in the actual real world.
